Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants for undergraduate programs should demonstrate a good general education with acceptable levels of literacy and numeracy, equivalent to at least grade 4 or C at GCSE in English and Mathematics.
  • Individual programs may have additional requirements, specified on the online course pages.
  • International students must have an internationally-recognized English language qualification.
  • The university considers a wide range of qualifications, including A/AS-levels, BTEC qualifications, Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Core Maths qualifications, T-Level qualifications, International Baccalaureate, OCR Cambridge Technical, and Welsh Baccalaureate.
  • For some programs, the EPQ and Welsh Baccalaureate are accepted in combination with two A-levels.
  • The university recognizes the value of the Core Maths qualification but will not accept it in lieu of AS/A level Maths where Mathematics is a subject requirement.
  • The University accepts both reformed and unreformed A and AS-level qualifications and may use the A* grade to draw distinctions between candidates at confirmation.
  • For science subjects at A-level, applicants must achieve a pass in the separately graded practical endorsement.
  • Some programs may have subject-specific requirements for BTEC qualifications.
  • T-Levels are considered on a case-by-case basis, especially for non-clinical programs, and may require additional qualifications or interviews.
  • EU and other non-UK applicants need to provide proof of their qualifications for verification.

How To Apply?

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degrees)

  • Apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
  • All undergraduate courses start in September; no January entry is available.
  • UK students study for 13 years prior to university, while some countries study for one year less. If applicable, complete a foundation programme at the University of Liverpool International College (UoLIC) before starting the undergraduate degree.

Postgraduate (Masters, PhD, MRes, and Doctorates)

  • Follow the guidance for applying to postgraduate taught or research degrees.
  • Consider using approved agents in your country to handle your application.
  • Apply early for taught master’s courses, especially in the Management School.
  • Flexible start dates are available for master’s programs, with multiple options between October, November, January, and February.
