Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Courses

  • The University of Victoria offers a wide range of undergraduate courses that are open to students of all backgrounds and ages.
  • To be eligible for admission to the university, applicants must have completed at least 12 years of formal education, have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0, and have successfully completed the required prerequisites for the chosen program.
  • Students should also demonstrate proficiency in the English language, either through taking the IELTS or TOEFL exams or through completing a course at a recognized English-language institute.
  • In addition, applicants should also meet the age criteria for admission. Undergraduate applicants must be at least 17 years old at the time of application, and must not be over the age of 24. If a student is over the age of 24 they may still be eligible for admission if they can provide evidence of successful study from a post-secondary institution in the last two years.

Post-Graduate Courses

  • The University of Victoria offers a wide range of postgraduate courses, including graduate diplomas and Masters and Doctoral degree programs.
  • To be eligible for admission to a postgraduate program, applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree program from a recognized institution, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and have successfully completed the required prerequisites for the chosen program.
  • Applicants should also demonstrate proficiency in the English language, either through taking the IELTS or TOEFL exams or through completing a course at a recognized English-language institute.
  • In addition, applicants should also meet the age criteria for admission. Postgraduate applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of application, and must not be over the age of 40. If a student is over the age of 40 they may still be eligible for admission if they can provide evidence of successful study from a post-secondary institution in the last two years.
  • For some postgraduate programs, applicants may also be required to submit scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

Special Children

The University of Victoria welcomes applications from special children and offers a number of support services and resources to help them succeed in their studies.

  • Set Up Your My Page Account: To apply to UVic, you must set up a My Page account. This can be done online and provides access to all the necessary documents, forms, and applications.
  • Complete and Submit the Application: Once you’re My Page account is set up, you can begin to complete the application. Fill out all required fields, attach any documents and transcripts, and submit the application.
  • Pay the Application Fee: After submitting your application, you must pay the application fee. This fee is non-refundable, and payment can be made online or by mail.
  • Submit Additional Documents: Depending on the program, you may be asked to submit additional documents, such as transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement. These must be sent directly to the University.
  • Track Your Application: After submitting all the required documents and fees, you can track your application status online. This will provide you with updates on the status of your application and any additional documents that may be required.
  • Confirm Your Enrollment: Upon receiving an offer of admission from the University, you must confirm your enrollment by paying the tuition fees. After this is done, you will officially be enrolled in your chosen program.

Accommodation & Other Facilities

The University of Victoria offers a range of accommodation options to meet the needs of its students. These include on-campus residence, off-campus housing and apartments, and homestay accommodation. 

On-campus residence is the most popular option for students. The university offers a variety of residence styles, including single, double and triple occupancy rooms. All residence rooms come equipped with a bed, desk and chair, as well as a shared common area for studying and socializing.
