The 71 selected universities in the UK along with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign are offering GREAT scholarships to outstanding international students from selected countries to stay and study in the UK. The GREAT Campaign was launched to encourage international audiences to visit, study, trade, invest, live, and work in the UK, and this scholarship, as a part of this initiative, offers scholarships to study one-year, on-campus postgraduate courses in the UK. The award will be made as a discount on international tuition fees and no payment will be made to the applicant. The scholarship may be used in conjunction with other partial scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria
- Have a conditional or unconditional offer letter from one of the partner universities
- You should be a resident of one of the above-mentioned countries
- Completed your bachelor’s or equivalent degree from your country
- Meet the English language requirement of the UK University
- Applicants must be self-funded (i.e. not sponsored by a government or commercial funder)
- Successful candidates must be willing to work with the international recruitment team from time to time or asked to participate in British Council GREAT activities
Application Process

- On your country page, you can find a list of universities offering GREAT scholarships.
- For detailed information, visit each university’s page on the Study UK website, and then proceed to the university’s website to learn about the application process.
- Typically, you will need to apply for your chosen course through the university’s application system. The link to the application form will be emailed to all relevant offer holders of the university.
- As part of the application process, you may need to submit an essay. Some universities require a 500-word essay on a topic you have previously studied and found interesting. This essay, along with your academic achievements and demonstrated potential, will be used for shortlisting.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited to a video interview with the university’s selection committee.
- The shortlisting and interview process is managed by the universities, so contact your chosen university for specific details on their application procedures.

Selection Criteria
Candidates are selected based on merit and the quality of their scholarship application. Decisions will be made on applicants’ performance in their bachelor’s degree as well as the quality of their SOP.
