The ADB Japan Scholarship offers the following scholarship benefits:

Duration of the Scholarship
The ADB Japan Scholarship is offered for a period of one (1) year. The award could be extended to your second year of study as well, given that you maintain your academic achievement as determined by the institute. However, the maximum duration of scholarship award is two (2) years for postgraduate program.
Who IS Eligible For the ADB Japan Scholarship?
To stand eligible for the ADB Japan Scholarship, you should:
- Be a citizen of one of the ADB borrowing member country and Japanese ODA Scholarship country
- Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country
- Not be more than 35 years of age at the time of application (unless waived)
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Have at least two years of full-time professional work experience
- Have gained admission to a designated institution for an approved master’s course
- Showcase proficiency in oral and written English
- Should be in good health
- Agree to return and work for your home country for at least 2 years
- Not be a staff, management, director or even close relatives of the aforementioned

ADB Japan Scholarship Selection Process
After successful submission of application and documents, the university decides on the admission and scholarship application. The list of shortlisted candidates are then sent to ADB, The Asian Development Bank which then reviews the submissions again. The ADB selects the final scholars and informs the institution as well the Japanese Executive Director. Your university will then respond you about your final decision.
