Eligibility Criteria For the GISMA
English Language Level: When you apply for admission, you will need to confirm that you are a ‘competent user of the English language,’ equivalent to or above the level needed to obtain a GCSE grade A–C. Various qualifications and language assessments are recognized as proof of English language proficiency, such as:
- GCSEs (or equivalent): Grades A–C
- A levels/AS levels (or equivalent): Pass
- National Literacy /Functional English/Key Skills: Level 2
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 5.5–6.5
- Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: B2

The Open Futures Sanctuary Scholarship:
- It provides free education to 12 new UK-resident students who have been displaced due to various reasons.
- The scholarship covers up to 360 credits of undergraduate study, including full tuition costs.
- Successful recipients also receive a free starter pack of equipment, such as a laptop and accessories.
- Eligibility criteria include being a forced migrant, having a specific immigration status, limited income or receiving qualifying benefits, and being a new student in the academic year 2023/24.
- Applications for the academic year 2023/24 are closed, and successful applicants will be notified by 28th July 2023.
